Biography
Soprano Elenora Hu is a versatile and captivating performer, known for her powerful voice, technical precision, and emotional depth. Specializing in opera and classical voice, Elenora has made standout appearances at the Dutch National Opera, the Koninklijk Concertgebouw, and recently at the prestigious Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. Her repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary works that showcase her wide range and adaptability as an artist.
Born and raised in Delft, the Netherlands, Elenora developed a deep love for art, history, and literature from an early age. After initially studying English Language and Linguistics at Leiden University, she shifted her focus to music, pursuing vocal studies at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory under the guidance of Dobrinka Yankova. Shortly after she was introduced to her current mentor, soprano Nelly Miricioiu. Elenora is also a proud alumna of the Dutch National Opera Studio.
Elenora has had the privilege of working with renowned conductors such as Joana Mallwitz and Michele Mariotti, as well as acclaimed director Christof Loy. These collaborations have further shaped her artistic development, allowing her to deliver performances that are both technically refined and deeply expressive.
Her recent engagements include a liedrecital tour with her duo partner Amy Chang, with whom she was awarded the IVC Vrienden van het Lied Prize in 2023, her role debut as Amina in La Sonnambula at TivoliVredenburg, and her debut as a young artist at the Rossini Opera Festival, where she performed the role of Madama Cortese in Il Viaggio a Reims.
In May 2025 Elenora received the third prize at the Lotte Lenya Competition Finals in New York.
